The decrease in revenue was the result of a decrease in revenue recognized under XenoPort's collaboration agreement with Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals, Inc., which terminated in July 2009, partially offset by an increase in revenue recognized under the Astellas agreement related to the acceptance for review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the NDA for XP13512. Loss from operations for the nine months of 2009 was $49.163 million against $47.973 million for the same period last year. Loss before income taxes for the nine months of 2009 was $48.123 million against $44.204 million for the same period last year.
