WVS Financial Corp. ("WVS" or the "Company") is the parent holding company of West View Savings Bank ("West View" or the "Savings Bank"). The Company was organized in July 1993 as a Pennsylvania-chartered unitary bank holding company and acquired 100% of the common stock of the Savings Bank in November 1993. West View Savings Bank is a Pennsylvania-chartered, FDIC-insured stock savings bank conducting business from six offices in the North Hills suburbs of Pittsburgh. The Savings Bank converted from the mutual to the stock form of ownership in November 1993. The Savings Bank had no subsidiaries at June 30, 2007. Lending Activities General. At June 30, 2007, the Company's net portfolio of loans receivable totaled $60.4 million, as compared to $55.7 million at June 30, 2006. WVS Financial Corp. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended December 31, 2009. For the quarter, the company's net interest income was $918,000 against $2.3 million a year ago. Interest income was $3.08 million against $5 million a year ago. Income before income tax expense was $134,000 against $1.5 million a year ago. Net income was $133,000 or $0.06 diluted per share against $1.01 million or $0.47 diluted per share a year ago. The $879,000 decrease in net income during the quarter was primarily attributable to a $1,428,000 decrease in net interest income and a $23,000 decrease in non-interest income which were partially offset by a $500,000 decrease in income tax expense, a $36,000 decrease in non-interest expense and a $36,000 decrease in provisions for loan losses. For the six months, the company's net interest income was $1.9 million against $4.2 million a year ago. Interest income was $6.3 million against $9.9 million a year ago. Income before income tax expense was $360,000 against $2.6 million a year ago. Net income was $304,000 or $0.15 diluted per share against $1.8 million or $0.81 diluted per share a year ago.
