Viking Systems, Inc. reported unaudited earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported net loss of $191,650 or $0.0 per basic and diluted share on sales of $2,069,490 compared to net loss of $696,331 or $0.2 per basic and diluted share on sales of $1,979,468 for the same quarter a year ago. Operating loss was $334,656 compared to $686,167 for the same quarter a year ago. For the full year, the company reported net loss of $1,074,319 or $0.02 per basic and diluted share on sales of $7,218,994 compared to net loss of $5,752,057 or $0.14 per basic and diluted share on sales of $6,426,996 for the previous year. Operating loss was $1,331,519 compared to $4,633,927 for the previous year.
Viking Systems, Inc. Completed First Evaluation of its Next Gen" 3D System

Viking Systems, Inc. announced that it recently successfully completed the first evaluation of its "Next Generation" 3DHD prototype visualization system. The laboratory session was conducted at the Washington University School of Medicine's Institute for Minimally Invasive Surgery in St. Louis, MO. Gerald L. Andriole, MD, Professor and Chief of Urologic Surgery at Washington University and Sam Bhayani, MD, Assistant Professor of Urologic Surgery and Co-Director of Robotic Surgery, Washington University were the surgeon participants. In October 2009, at the American College of Surgeon's annual Clinical Congress in Chicago, Viking demonstrated the "Next Generation" 3DHD camera system utilizing a prototype Sony 3DHD flat panel display. During 2010, Viking Systems intends to complete the development of this unique Next Generation system and currently plans to launch the system in the fourth quarter of 2010.
