Mr. Slager previously served in roles of increasing responsibility in operations for Allied since 1985.

For the six months, the company reported total revenues of $1,608,858,000 against $2,439,537,000 a year ago. Net revenues were $648,873,000. Operating income was $40,260,000 against $67,281,000 a year ago. Pretax income was $33,511,000 against $59,316,000 a year ago. Income from continuing operations, net of tax was $23,287,000 or $0.21 per diluted share against $43,861,000 or $0.41 per diluted share a year ago. Net income attributable to the company was $21,600,000 or $0.21 per diluted share against $47,288,000 or $0.47 per diluted share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $66,302,000 against $13,730,000 a year ago. Purchases of property, plant and equipment were amounted to $16,752,000 against $30,985,000 a year ago.
