USA Signal Technology Inc. will add operations in the Cincinnati area as part of a major expansion of its fiber optic network in Ohio. The company adding 1,000 miles to its fiber optic network in Ohio. As part of that expansion, it also will add colocation facilities in Cincinnati, Columbus and Cleveland. A colocation facility is a center where customers can locate network, server and storage equipment and connect to various telecommunications services. The company also said it will open four data centers: two in Cleveland and one each in Cincinnati and Columbus. The centers will offer data storage and backup services. The colocation and data centers will be located in Cincinnati Bell Inc.'s central telecom office on Seventh Street, and at an unnamed data center on Plum Street, both downtown.
