PLATO Learning, Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended January 31, 2010. For the quarter, the company reported income before income taxes and net income of $1,002,000 or $0.04 per diluted share on total revenues of $15,587,000 against income before income taxes and net income of $259,000 or $0.01 per diluted share on total revenues of $16,037,000 in the first quarter of 2009. Operating income was $1,065,000 against $191,000 in the first quarter a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $1,412,000 against net cash used in operating activities of $6,075,000 a year ago. Purchases of capital equipment were $255,000 against $98,000 a year ago. EBITDA was $4,190,000 against $2,974,000 a year ago. The company's outlook for fiscal year 2010 is unchanged from the outlook previously provided. The company continues to expect strong growth in orders and revenues from subscription products in fiscal 2010, growing 10% to 20% over 2009 levels.
