Terremark Worldwide Inc. announced the appointment of Marvin Wheeler, former Chief Operations Officer and President of the U.S. Commercial Business Unit, as Chief Strategy Officer. In this new role, Wheeler's primary responsibilities will include the ongoing development of Terremark's corporate strategy and identifying key opportunities to drive continued growth for the company, including potential acquisitions. Wheeler's new duties will focus on directing corporate initiatives and developing strategic alliances with key corporate partners in order to help Terremark maintain its position as cutting-edge IT solutions for enterprises and Federal government agencies. Wheeler has played a key role in the development of Terremark's uniquely differentiated business model over his close to 10 years with the company. He joined Terremark after more than 20 years managing datacenter and network operations for some of the telecommunications companies. Nelson Fonseca has been named the company's Chief Operating Officer. During his eight years at the company, Fonseca has held various key management positions including President of Terremark's Public Sector Business Unit, Senior Vice President of Sales for Terremark Federal Group, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Terremark Worldwide, and Vice President of Commercial Sales. The mentioned management changes will become effective November 15, 2009.
