Key developmentsTombstone Exploration Corp. Provides Update on Summer Drill Program
10/9/2008
Tombstone Exploration Corp. announced that it has successfully completed 2,593 feet of core drilling at its silver project in Tombstone. AZ. Six diamond drill holes (DDH) have been drilled, TEMC 101,102,103,104,105 and 106, to test the extension of the mineralization zones of the Bonanza and Santa Ana structures, both of which possess historical data from within the mining district. Both structures exhibit open ends at the south and north, as well down dip. Drilling was performed by Layne Christensen Drilling Company during June through September, 2008. Holes were drilled as HQ diameter and using triple-tube technology, yielding a recovery over 90% in most instances. RQD is estimated at 45%, average. Five out of the six DD holes intersected the projected targets at different levels at the south, central and north of the structures, while DDH TEMC 101 provided a great deal of information regarding the Bonanza structure which seems to be bent in an opposite direction in depth. This particular piece of information has been physically confirmed in the Bonanza mine workings where the structure becoming subvertical at 200 feet approximately, and then switches the dip to east, rather than dipping west as observed at the upper sectors of the shafts. Tombstone Exploration Corp. Announces Drilling Update
08/5/2008
Tombstone Exploration Corp. reported that drill hole TEMC 101 was completed at 980'. Recovery remained exceptionally high due to the triple technology, and the RQD rate in most instances was over 75%. Core has been photographed, diamond split and sent for assay to ALS Chemex. Drill hole TEMC 102 is under way and is currently at 300'. TEMC 102 is designed to intercept the Santa Ana structure. Ore intercepts are hosted by sedimentary rock units as limestones, siltstones and quartzites of the Bisbee Group with minor occurrences of granitic associated with the Uncle Sam porphyry and feldspar porphyry dikes. Most of mineralization occurs in thin manganese oxide veins of 2-5' (apparent thickness) taking place at a rate of 10-15' apart with wide alteration haloes of argillic alteration and minor silicification along the veins. In most instances, abundant manganese oxide stringers are placed along the alteration haloes. This zone extends in excess of 150'. It is inferred that the manganese oxides carry significant amounts of silver mineralization, which is the case of the historical mineralization observed at the Tombstone silver mining district. The upper 120' of core has been logged, photographed, diamond split and sent for assay to ALS Chemex. Recovery is considered acceptable, despite the fact that it is strongly affected by faulting. Actually veins are placed along fault and fracture zone in most cases. RQD rate at the ore zones is normally lower than 25%. Tombstone Exploration Corp. Announces Drilling Results
07/24/2008
Tombstone Exploration Corp. announced that its first drill hole, TEMC 101, has been completed at a depth of 980'. The down-the-hole survey was completed with readings at 150' intervals with the Reflex EZ-Shot geophysical instrument, indicating that the drill hole remained very much on the direction and angle that had been set up. Recovery remained very high, averaging over 90%, while RQD was estimated at up to 85% in some places. At approximately the last 200', TEMC 101 intercepted a strong package of propylitic altered massive limestone, quite rich in pyrite up 5%. Pyrite occurs in different fashions as disseminated, thin lensoids along the bedding, cross-cut stringers and in aggregates. Manganese oxide stringers and veinlets occur in various places. In the district, manganese oxides are silver carriers. Currently, core samples from drill hole TEMC 101 are being photographed, diamond split, logged and sacked to be shipped to the laboratory. Meanwhile, drill hole TEMC 102 has started drilling the first 20' for casing. TEMC 102 has been designed to intercept the upper sector of the Santa Ana structure, a productive mine of the district with historical records of high grade production.
