Key developments for SYMRISE AG-UNSPON ADR (SYIEY)
Symrise AG reported earnings results for the year 2009. Net profit of the company slipped 7% year-on-year to EUR 84.3 million (USD 115 million) in 2009. Operating profit declined 13% to EUR 163 million, but adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were slightly up to EUR 265.4 million from EUR 262.5 million in 2008. Revenue increased 3.2% to EUR 1.36 billion, with growth in emerging markets coming at 4.5% in local currencies. Operating cash flow surged 47% to EUR 225.7 million, while net debt narrowed to EUR 773.4 million from EUR 833.6 million. Although profits were lower, it announced an unchanged dividend of EUR 0.50 a share, equal to a payout ratio of 70%.
Symrise AG opened its first automated plant for liquid flavours in Singapore which will cater to the Southeast Asian market. The plant's opening marks the end of the second phase of the company's $40 million expansion plan om Singapore.
