The company markets its specialty plant nutrition products under the various brands names comprising Ultrasol for application via fertirrigation; Qrop for soil application; Speedfol for foliar application; and Allganic, the family of products designed for organic crops. It also offers iodine for use in various medical, agricultural, and industrial applications, such as X-Ray contrast media, biocides, antiseptics and disinfectants, pharmaceutical, polarizing films for liquid crystal displays, chemicals, and herbicides; and iodine derivatives for use in various medical and industrial applications, as well as in human and animal nutrition products. In addition, the company provides lithium carbonate for use in various applications, including batteries, frits for the ceramic and enamel industries, heat resistant glass, primary aluminum, air conditioning chemicals, continuous casting powder for steel extrusion, pharmaceuticals, and lithium derivatives; lithium hydroxide as a raw material in the lubricating grease, dyes, and battery industries; and lithium metal for use as a catalyst in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, as well as for the production of aluminum-lithium alloys and lithium primary batteries. Further, it offers various industrial chemicals comprising sodium nitrate, potassium nitrate, boric acid, and potassium chloride, as well as salts for thermo-solar applications. Chemical & Mining Co. of Chile Inc. Proposes Gross Dividend Payable on May 12, 2010

Chemical & Mining Co. of Chile Inc. announced that its Board of Directors has unanimously agreed to propose to lower the dividend policy from 65% to 50% of net income at the company's next Annual Shareholders Meeting to be held on April 29, 2010. This modification would mean a gross dividend of $0.62131 per share would be paid to shareholders. The interim dividend of $0.37994 per share, which was paid on December 16, 2009, will be deducted from the gross dividend of $0.62131 per share. Therefore, the outstanding amount to be paid is $0.24137 per share. This proposal is subject to the approval of shareholders at the company's 2010 annual meeting. If approved, the dividend will be paid to shareholders of record on the fifth business day prior to the payment date. The company's depositary bank, the Bank of New York Mellon, will inform shareholders of the record date applicable to them. The amount payable will be the Chilean peso equivalent of $0.24137 per share, in accordance with the "Observed Exchange Rate" as published in the Official Gazette on April 29, 2010. The payment date of this dividend for shareholders registered in Chile will be May 12, 2010.
