Sonus Networks Inc. Announces Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended September 30, 2009

Sonus Networks Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009. Revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2009 was $56.2 million, compared to revenue from continuing operations of $62.2 million for the third quarter of fiscal 2008. The Company's net loss on a GAAP basis was $3.4 million, or $0.01 per share, for the third quarter of 2009, compared a net loss of $21.2 million, or $0.08 per share, for the third quarter of 2008. Loss from operations was $3.5 million, loss from continuing operations before income taxes of $2.7 million and loss from continuing operations of $3.4 million or $0.01 per diluted share against loss from operations was $37.5 million, loss from continuing operations before income taxes of $34.8 million and loss from continuing operations of $20.7 million or $0.08 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported loss from operation of $19.0 million, loss from continuing operations before income of $15.6 million, loss from continuing operations of $15.2 million or $0.06 per diluted share and net loss of $15.2 million or $0.06 per diluted share on total revenues of $158.8 million against loss from operation of $33.2 million, loss from continuing operations before income of $23.0 million, loss from continuing operations of $16.6 million or $0.06 per diluted share and net loss of $21.0 million or $0.08 per diluted share on total revenues of $223.6 million for the same period a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities of was $10.7 million and purchases of property and equipment of $4.8 million against net cash used in operating activities of was $2.9 million and purchases of property and equipment of $7.0 million for the same period a year ago.
