Skinvisible Inc. Inks Canadian Agreement for DermSafe

DermSafe and Alto Pharmaceuticals have entered into a license agreement for DermSafe(R), Skinvisible 's antimicrobial hand sanitizer lotion that recently completed clinical studies proving it kills the H1N1 virus. Under the terms of the agreement, Alto will pay Skinvisible an upfront license fee for the exclusive manufacturing and the commercial /professional use marketing rights for DermSafe in Canada. Skinvisible will also receive a royalty from product sales. DermSafe claims its product does not contain alcohol and therefore is non-drying to the skin, and that schools, penitentiaries and other groups with safety concerns have discontinued the use of alcohol-based hand sanitizers. The active ingredient in DermSafe is chlorhexidine gluconate, an ingredient approved by Health Canada under the Human Use Antiseptic Drugs Monograph. This ingredient has been safely used in hospitals worldwide as a pre-surgical scrub as well as in dental applications. This license agreement is the second DermSafe agreement signed by Skinvisible. The DermSafe licensee, Mayquest Pharmaceuticals, based in Singapore, recently received approval to import DermSafe to Singapore and will commence commercial /professional sales in January 2010.

New Clinical Study Proves Skinvisible's DermSafe Kills the H1N1 Swine Flu Virus

Skinvisible Inc. announced that it has successfully completed a new clinical study proving that its hand sanitizer lotion DermSafe(R) kills/inactivates the H1N1 virus on humans. This in-vivo study proves that DermSafe meets the criteria set-out by internationally accepted study guidelines to show efficacy against the H1N1 'swine flu' virus. The study, performed at the independent testing laboratory Bioscience Laboratories Inc., required that the subjects' finger pads be contaminated with the H1N1 virus and then examined according to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standards. The results of the study proved that DermSafe killed the virus to the same detection level as 70% alcohol. In some countries, this study allows Skinvisible to submit data for approval to include 'Kills H1N1' on the product label. This further confirms the efficacy of DermSafe as previously announced in an in-vitro study conducted at Retroscreen Virology, where DermSafe also achieved a 99.99% kill/inactivation of the H1N1 virus.
