Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. reported consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2009. For the quarter, the company's net profit rose 24% to SGD 991 million, with its businesses in Singapore, Australia and regional mobile associates reporting improved performance from SGD 799 million in the same quarter last year. The Group's revenue posted a 20% gain to SGD 4.45 billion from $3.701 billion in the same quarter last year, driven by steady growth from Singapore and Australia and assisted by the stronger Australian dollar. Operational EBITDA for the quarter increased 16.7% to SGD 1,233 million from SGD 1,057 million for the same quarter last year. For the nine months, the company's net profit rose 13.6% to SGD 2,892 million from SGD 2,545 million in the same period last year. The group's revenue posted a 9.1% gain to SGD 12.4 billion from $11.37 billion in the same period last year. Operational EBITDA for the nine months increased 7% to SGD 3,511 million from SGD 3,282 million for the same period last year. Underlying net profit for the nine months increased to SGD 2,887 million or 18.14 cents per share from SGD 2,496 million or 15.69 cents per share for the same period last year. Underlying net profit for the third quarter of 2009 increased to SGD 990 million or 6.22 cents per share from SGD 838 million or 5.26 cents per share for the same quarter last year.
