Sycamore Networks Inc. reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended January 23, 2010. Revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2010 was $16.2 million, compared with $11.7 million for the second quarter of fiscal 2009. Net loss for the second quarter of fiscal 2010, on a generally accepted accounting principles ("GAAP") basis, was $1.2 million, or $0.04 per share, compared with net loss of $10.1 million, or $0.36 per share for the second quarter of fiscal 2009. Non-GAAP net loss for the second quarter of fiscal 2010 was $0.5 million, or $0.02 per share, compared with non-GAAP net loss of $8.3 million, or $0.29 per share for the second quarter of fiscal 2009. Loss from operations was $3.6 million against $15.0 million for the same period earlier. Loss before income taxes was $1.9 million against $10.0 million for the same period earlier. Net loss for the first six months of fiscal 2010, on a GAAP basis, was $11.6 million or $0.41 per share, compared with net loss of $15.9 million or $0.56 per share for the first six months of fiscal 2009. Non-GAAP net loss for the first six months of fiscal 2010 was $3.6 million, or $0.13 per share, compared with non-GAAP net loss of $11.7 million, or $0.41 per share for the first six months of fiscal 2009. Loss from operations was $15.6 million against $26.9 million for the same period earlier. Loss before income taxes was $12.2 million against $15.9 million for the same period earlier.
