SABMiller plc announced that Mike Short, previously CEO and Managing Director of its Czech subsidiary, has been appointed to the newly created group role of Senior Vice-President, Industry Affairs. Reporting to Corporate Affairs Director, Sue Clark, he will steer the development and implementation of SABMiller's policies in the areas of alcohol self-regulation, industry accountability and the impact on the company of legislation. In this role, Mike will oversee and build on the positive work done in the area of alcohol responsibility and impact analysis by SABMiller's Alcohol Policy and License to Trade teams, as well as supporting the company in its engagement with international stakeholders, national governments and relevant NGOs. Mike has 21 years experience in the brewing industry.
