Retalix Ltd. announced that Scandinavian convenience store operator Reitan Servicehandel (RSH) has deployed an integrated solution from Retalix that includes its StorePoint, Retalix Fuel and Retalix HQNet software solutions at more than 1,000 RSH sites, including 300 Shell/7-Eleven stores on fuel stations in Scandinavia. The combined solution has given RSH greater visibility and control over its retail operations. Reitan Servicehandel, based in Oslo, Norway, owns the franchises for 7-Eleven convenience stores in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. In 2008, the company entered into an agreement resulting in approximately 300 fuel stations being rebranded to Shell/7-Eleven. With the challenge of combining two well-known brands, a complex business model and stringent legal restrictions, RSH needed to quickly integrate its point-of-sale (POS), fuel sales and forecourt control systems with existing convenience store sales systems. The retailer chose Retalix as its lead partner in that endeavor. Rounding out RSH's efforts to comprehensively handle its diverse activities, the retailer implemented Retalix HQNet. A software solution for operating multiple chains, HQNet consolidates item, vendor and price information into a central data repository to improve decision making, pricing accuracy, margin control, product assortment, and inventory control. RSH's integration of Retalix Fuel enables the retailer to offer a one-stop-shop that maximizes the value of its fuel and convenience store components. By automating the fuel sales process, Retalix Fuel enhances the operational efficiency of RSH's fuel component. By generating a unified bill for fuel and convenience store purchases through the use of a single card, the solution encourages customers to carry out indoor payments, which, in turn, creates in-store up-selling opportunities for RSH.
