Renew Energy Resources, Inc. announced that it may close its 80-employee ethanol plant in Jefferson. The plant-closing notice Renew filed this week is a technical step prompted by the demands of the company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy case.

This agreement will allow Renew management team to start the development process for a 2.5 million gallon per year biodiesel plant knowing that a large majority of the feed-stock is guaranteed and the pricing of the material is predictable.
