Radware Ltd. announced the expansion of its AlteonR Application Switch product line with two new OnDemand switchesR, the Alteon 4408 and Alteon 4416. The Alteon 4-series is available less than one-year after Radware acquired Nortel's layer 4-7 application switching business, and rounds-out the product suite together with the recently introduced Alteon 5412, which now offers complete application delivery throughput coverage up to 20 Gbps. Similar to other Alteon application switch models, the 4-series combines the unique Alteon Virtual Matrix Architecture (VMA) technology with Radware's industry-recognized hardware platforms, resulting in performance leadership for optimal Quality of Experience. The switches are designed and built as specialized high-performance Layer 4-7 application delivery switches with backward compatibility. Extending throughput capacity by up to 4 Gbps, the Alteon 4408 and 4416 deliver breakthrough performance including 215K Layer 4 and 135K Layer 7 Transactions per Second and the fastest response time. They enable the broadest range of performance traffic management and control services with six-Gigabit Ethernet (GE) and two small form-factor pluggable (SFP) ports on the Alteon 4408, and twelve GE, four SFP ports and dual, out-of-band management ports on the Alteon 4416. Both switches also offer a serial management port and a USB port for simplified software upgrades and recovery as well as redundant power supply configurations.

Radware announced that Pelephone will deploy its Mobile Internet Gateway (MIG) solution for dynamic traffic steering and flexible policy enforcement; supporting Pelephone's Mobile Service Platform, which serves 2.7 million mobile subscribers. The growing popularity of mobile devices has increased demand for traffic-consuming mobile applications. This mobile broadband explosion, where customers want unlimited browsing access to Internet portals, content and application sites, led Pelephone to invest and expand its 3G and core infrastructure, introduce 3.75G radio access technologies, and restructure and secure its Multi Service Platform (MSP) architecture - to better support the new mobile service demands. As a result, the Company enlisted the help of Radware to implement its vigorous, reliable MIG solution, to improve value-added service (VAS) utilization.
