Penson Worldwide Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2009. For the quarter, net income was $4,341,000 or $0.17 basic and diluted earnings per share on net revenue of $74,420,000 compared to net loss of $10,801,000 or $0.43 basic and diluted loss per share on net revenue of $69,060,000 for the same period last year. Income before income taxes was $6,891,000 against loss before income taxes of $17,893,000 of previous year period. Net revenues, as adjusted were $69,574,000. Net income, as adjusted was $2,967,000. Adjusted basic and diluted earnings per share were $0.12. For the year ended December 31, 2009, net income was $16,011,000 or $0.63 basic and diluted earnings per share on net revenue of $289,881,000 compared to net loss of $10,656,000 or $0.42 basic and diluted loss per share on net revenue of $293,170,000 for the same period last year. Income before income taxes was $25,836,000 against $16,649,000 of previous year period. Net revenues, as adjusted were $285,035,000. Net income, as adjusted was $15,589,000. Adjusted basic and diluted earnings per share were $0.61.
