Power Efficiency Corp. reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported sales were $63,130. Net loss for the quarter, including $118,743 in non-cash expenses related to stock based compensation and $334,390 in non-cash expenses related to unrealized loss on the fair value of certain outstanding warrants was $1,404,718. Excluding these non-cash amounts, the company lost $951,585 in the quarter.

IXYS and Power Efficiency Announce Orders for Single Phase Motor Efficiency Controllers

IXYS Corp. and Power Efficiency Corp. jointly announced that they have received the first order for Power Efficiency's single phase motor efficiency controllers. The 1,000 units are being sold for a retrofit application in the U.S. The customer expects to make additional purchases for this application in the future. The companies also announced the launch of a single phase Motor Efficiency Controller Evaluation Module targeted at design engineers who are interested in making AC induction motors in their original equipment more energy efficient. This Evaluation Module, along with regular single phase Motor Efficiency Controllers, is available for purchase on the IXYS web site. The single phase Evaluation Module incorporates Power Efficiency's E-Save Technology, which improves the efficiency of constant speed electric motors that are at times lightly loaded. Single phase motors are the most common motors found in residential and light commercial motor driven equipment.

Power Efficiency Corp. Announces Management Appointments

Power Efficiency Corp. announced that it has recently added a Chief Operating Officer and several highly experienced sales personnel to lead commercialization of the company's products that were recently certified by Underwriters Laboratory (UL). These people include Scott Johnson, Executive Vice President and COO, Jitendra (Jay) Mistry, Director of Industrial Sales--Western Region, and Jack Barrett, Director of Industrial Sales--Eastern Region. This group has over 60 years of combined experience in senior management and sales positions in large and entrepreneurial motor control and automation companies, including Rockwell Automation, Parker Hannifin, Danaher Motion, Reliance Electric, Compumotor and others. Scott Johnson joined the Company as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in July. Jitendra (Jay) Mistry, Director of Industrial Sales--Western Region, joined Power Efficiency in April after 18 years at Reliance Electric and Rockwell Automation. His most recent position was as Sales Manager, Channel and Component Sales, he led a sales team covering the U.S. Southwest including Southern California, Arizona, New Mexico, and East Texas. Jack Barrett, Director of Industrial Sales--Eastern Region, joined Power Efficiency in October and brings over 30 years' experience in sales and marketing of automation products. Most recently, Barrett was at Danaher Motion, where he held various positions including Director of OEM Sales for the Kollmorgen division and VP of North American Sales for the Portescap division.
