This segment also operates as a wholesale participant in the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator markets. The Plastics segment offers polyvinyl chloride pipes to wholesalers and distributors through independent sales representatives, its salespersons, and customer service representatives. The Manufacturing segment manufactures and sells wind towers, contract machining, metal parts stamping and fabrication, waterfront equipment, material and handling trays, and horticultural containers. The Health Services segment sells diagnostic medical equipment, patient monitoring equipment, and related supplies and accessories, as well as provides equipment maintenance, diagnostic imaging services, and rental of diagnostic medical imaging equipment to various medical institutions. The Food Ingredient Processing segment offers dehydrated potato products to food manufacturers in the snack food, foodservice, and bakery industries. The Other Business Operations segment provides residential, commercial, and industrial electric contracting services; fiber optic and electric distribution systems; wastewater and HVAC systems construction; and transportation and energy services. Otter Tail Corporation was formerly known as Otter Tail Power Company and changed its name to Otter Tail Corporation in 2001.
