This segment also provides software components that are deployed at the network operator?s headend; development tools, which permit broadcasters, programmers, and developers to create, test, and deliver interactive content and applications; and digital television technologies that enable broadcasters to manage their workflow and content processes. The company?s Advertising Solutions segment offers software solutions, which enable the sale and management of traditional linear advertising, as well as solutions for the creation, integration, and delivery of addressable and interactive advertising for digital television systems. This segment also provides measurement technologies that enable network operator customers to detail how viewers engage and interact with programs and advertisements. OpenTV Corp. also offers a suite of professional engineering and consulting services, such as business consulting, porting and integration, application customization and localization, launch management, and technology training. It has a collaboration agreement with Jinni to launch search and recommendation functionality to the television. The company was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California. OpenTV Corp. announced unaudited consolidated financial results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported revenues of $31.2 million compared to revenues of $28.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2008. Adjusted EBITDA, before unusual items, was $4.4 million compared to $3.9 million in fourth quarter of 2008. Net income attributable to company was $0.7 million or $0.01 per diluted share compared to net income of $2.3 million or $0.02 per diluted share in the fourth quarter of 2008. Profit from operations was $1 million compared to $1.3 million for the same period of last year. Profit before income taxes was $1.3 million compared to $2.5 million for the same period of last year. Adjusted EBITDA was $4.4 million compared to $3.9 million for the same period of last year. For the year, the company reported revenues of $120.0 million, an increase of 3.0% compared to $116.5 million in 2008. Adjusted EBITDA, before unusual items, decreased to $16.9 million compared to $17.6 million in 2008. Net income attributable to company was $6.2 million or $0.04 per diluted share compared to $9.6 million or $0.07 per diluted share in 2008. OpenTV Corp. is powering a unique, multi-platform interactive application for the FOXTEL and AUSTAR networks that enables enhanced coverage of the Vancouver Olympic Winter Games. The Vancouver Olympic Winter Games application allows FOXTEL and AUSTAR subscribers to view all four dedicated subscription channels in a mosaic one for each of the Vancouver Olympics locations and select one for full screen viewing. FOXTEL's interactive application allows the network to offer their customers a rich and wide array of interactive data and information to enhance and complement the most extensive coverage of an Olympic Winter Games ever offered in Australia. The broadcast coverage is complemented by mobile and Web coverage served by the same back-end systems and database provided by OpenTV.
