Obagi Medical Products, Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported net income of $4,805,000 or $0.22 per basic and diluted share on net sales of $30,703,000 against net loss of $2,184,000 or $0.10 per basic and diluted share on net sales of $25,435,000 for the same period a year ago. Income from operations of $7,929,000 compared to $2,860,000 for the same period a year ago. Income before provision for income taxes of $7,885,000 compared to $2,799,000 for the same period a year ago. The increase in net revenue was due primarily to increased consumer and account confidence in the economy, international growth and higher product demand in advance of a January 1, 2010 price increase. For the full year, the company reported net income of $11,333,000 or $0.52 per basic share and $0.51 per diluted share on net sales of $104,096,000 against net loss of $12,588,000 or $0.56 per basic and diluted share on net sales of $104,593,000 for the same period a year ago. Income from operations of $18,428,000 compared to $19,998,000 for the same period a year ago. Income before provision for income taxes of $18,478,000 compared to $20,123, 000 for the same period a year ago. Non-GAAP net income of $12,080,000 or $0.55 per basic and diluted share. Based on current trends in its core business, the impact of the January 1, 2010 price increase and normal seasonality, which typically causes a weaker first quarter compared to the rest of the year, the company expects first quarter 2010 net revenue to be in the range of $23,500,000 to $24,500,000 and fully diluted earnings per share to be in the range of $0.08 to $0.09. For the full year 2010, the company expects revenue to be between $108,000,000 and $112,000,000 and net income to be between $0.67 and $0.71 per share.
