The company reported total sales of THB 3.42 billion, up 23% from the first half of last year. Of the total revenue, THB 1.55 billion came from the food business and the remaining THB 1.87 billion came from beverages. The company said that net profit increased beyond its average annual growth of 20-30% because it had lower raw material costs after outlet expansion. Oishi Group operated 97 Japanese restaurant outlets last year, a number that will rise to 109 this year. The additional outlets include Kazokutei, a new Japanese food brand, at Central Pinklao and Seri Centre on Srinakarin Road. Oishi plans to spend THB 200 million to open 20 new outlets next year, bringing the total to 129. Its expansion next year will focus on two new food brands including Maido Ookini, cafeteria-style Japanese food, and Kazokutei. The aggressive expansion should help raise the sales proportion of food to 50%, up from 45% now. Sales are expected to grow by 10% to THB 7.2 billion.

Oishi Group Public Co. Ltd. signed a five-year franchise contract to introduce Kazokutei soba-and udon-noodle restaurants in Thailand. The company also has right to renew the franchise for another five years after the contract expires. The introduction of Kazokutei would serve the great potential of Thailand's noodle culture and was in line with the company's strategy of opening up new market segments following the great success of its ramen-noodle restaurants. The company plans to open as many as 20 in Thailand within five years. The company would spend THB 50 million to open five restaurants in the first year. Locations in central Bangkok frequented by Japanese, such as Sukhumvit Soi 39, will be sought. Each Kazokutei restaurant will employ 20-30 staff. The opening of new franchised restaurants will help it make better use of its new noodle machine being installed at the company's factory in the Navanakorn Industrial Estate in Pathum Thani province. Thailand was among the first international markets for Kazokutei franchises. In addition to the Kingdom, Kazokutei has also signed franchise agreements with local investors in China and Singapore.
