Nuvo Research has announced a new licensing agreement for Oxoferin, its topical wound healing agent, and additional details of the funding assistance to be provided by the Development Bank of Saxony for the development of WF10. Dimethaid entered into an exclusive license agreement with Ranbaxy Laboratories for the supply and distribution of Oxoferin in Malaysia, Cambodia, Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar and Singapore. Under the terms of the agreement, Nuvo will manufacture and supply Oxoferin to Ranbaxy. Ranbaxy will be responsible for obtaining regulatory approval in the licensed territories and has committed to minimum annual purchase quantities once approved.

Covidien plc and Nuvo Research Inc. announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the New Drug Application for Pennsaid(R) Topical Solution (diclofenac sodium topical solution) 1.5% w/w. Pennsaid Topical Solution is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used for the treatment of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee. Nuvo develops drug products delivered to and through the skin using its topical and transdermal drug delivery technologies. The launch of Pennsaid Topical Solution, which Covidien anticipates in the first half of calendar 2010, will include a NSAID medication guide for prescribers, pharmacists and patients.
