New World Development Co. Ltd. announced audited consolidated earnings results for the year ended June 30, 2009. For the year, the company has reported operating profit of HKD 2,329.4 million, profit before taxation of HKD 4,191.3 million, profit of HKD 3,751.9 million and profit attributable to shareholders of the company of HKD 2,083.5 million or HKD 0.53 per diluted share on revenue of HKD 24,415.0 million compared to operating profit of HKD 9,882.2 million, profit before taxation of HKD 14,192.9 million, profit of HKD 12,748.9 million and profit attributable to shareholders of the company of HKD 9,685.7 million or HKD 2.49 per diluted share on revenue of HKD 29,360.8 million for the same period last year. The Board has resolved to recommend a final dividend of HKD 0.21 per share comprising a cash dividend of HKD 0.01 per share and a scrip dividend by way of an issue of new shares equivalent to HKD 0.20 per share with a cash option to shareholders registered on 9 December 2009. Together with the interim dividend of HKD 0.09 per share paid in June 2009, total distribution for 2009 would thus be HKD 0.30 per share (2008: HKD 0.43 per share). In 2008, the company has declared a final dividend of HKD 0.25 per share.
