MedLink International, Inc. announced that it will be providing the option of its MedLink TotalOffice EHR as a Software as a Service (SaaS) starting December 2009. The SaaS model will further assist providers to qualify for 'meaningful use' by offering an affordable EHR framework to meet federal and state incentives for EHR adoption by reducing upfront hardware costs. SaaS, also known as software 'on demand,' is a model in which software is developed, hosted and operated for use by customers over the Internet. The offering will help customers quickly and cost-effectively maximize the value of their EHR implementations by reducing the long term upfront investments in IT infrastructure.
