Mesa Laboratories Inc. Signs Partnership Agreement with Masy Systems

Mesa Laboratories Inc. announced it has signed a strategic Distributor Agreement with Masy Systems, Inc., a Massachusetts based company, and the two companies have agreed to cooperate in market development activities. The partnership between Mesa Labs and Masy Systems will allow Masy to sell Mesa's DataTrace temperature, humidity and pressure data loggers in the Northeast area of the United States. Additionally, Masy will begin to use the DataTrace line of data loggers for their validation services and rental businesses going forward. Masy will be primarily adopting the new DataTrace Radio Frequency real-time transmitting loggers for the majority of their services operations. Other aspects of the partnership agreement include joint development of solutions for clients throughout the United States and potentially other international regions.

Mesa Laboratories Inc. reported unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2009. For the third quarter of fiscal 2010, net sales decreased less than 1% to $5,318,000 from $5,337,000 in the same quarter last year. Net income for the quarter decreased 5% to $1,154,000 or $0.35 per diluted share compared to $1,216,000 or $0.38 per diluted share one year ago. The company reported operating income of $1,818,000 compared to $1,884,000 for the same period a year ago. The company reported earnings before taxes of $1,832,000 compared to $1,900,000 for the same period a year ago. For the first nine months of fiscal 2010, net sales decreased 2% to $15,702,000 from $16,071,000 in the same period last year. Net income for the first nine months decreased 5% to $3,424 000 or $1.04 per diluted share compared to $3,586,000 or $1.11 per share one year ago. The company reported operating income of $5,400,000 compared to $5,515,000 for the same period a year ago. The company reported earnings before taxes of $5,426,000 compared to $5,594,000 for the same period a year ago.
