Key developments for Magellan Energy, Ltd. (MGLG)
Magellan Energy Ltd. has completed connection of all gas lines from the Thomas Martin and the Robert Anderson Lease in Morgan County, Tennessee and that gas production has commenced. This is a significant development for Magellan Energy. After much time, effort and hard work, the company is now in a position to rapidly increase its daily natural gas production rate and make additions to its reserves. In order to obtain an accurate estimate on the daily output from both wells, gas must flow through the lines for a period of approximately one to two weeks. This waiting period will enable Magellan to get a better understanding of production, as readings will have stabilized enough to achieve a balanced, daily output count. Magellan plans further studies in order to exploit the full potential of this project. The operators, TMD Energy Inc. will continue to work with Citizens Gas and monitor the situation to ensure there are no further disruptions.
Magellan Energy Ltd. announced an update on the status of its current projects including the participation agreements in Morgan County, Tennessee. This update addresses the ongoing work over procedures as well as the company restructuring notices. Magellan Energy announced that the work on the Robert Anderson Lease has made some significant progress. The compressor has been installed and all electrical needs have been addressed and met. The new pipeline is now in place, and the project will require additional work to be completed in order to be fully operational, and for Magellan to connect the well and begin production. The operator, TMD Energy Inc., has been in meetings with Citizens Gas to negotiate a possible re-connect to their lines, which will enable to sell gas while the company wait for the new lines. There has also been some increased activity on the Davidson well. The operators have opened the well and found a strong presence of gas and also that the well is bubbling. This is a strong indication that fluid is returning to the bore hole and coming back up. The WaterFlood project (Martin Wells) is progressing on a steady pace. The well is continuing to produce 3BOPD. The gas on these wells presently remain shut in and await the completion of the new lines.
Magellan Energy Ltd. announced that work is progressing on all three Tennessee projects. The company has installed a larger pump jack and a 118 engine, which is operating on natural gas, onto the Thomas L. Davidson well. During the last few weeks, logging on the adjoining leases delayed the completion of this project. With the logging now complete, KY-Tenn Oil Inc., the operators of the well, have connected a natural gas line to the well and the well has resumed production for oil. The well is expected to level out at a rate of 5 BOPD. At this rate, with current market prices, the well is expected to generate gross revenues of $150,000 per annum. Revenue from Magellan's interest is expected to payout the project in 2008 and with continual revenues in the coming years. The company is pleased that the work over procedures for Robert Anderson wells is expected to be finalized shortly. The road is currently being rebuilt and electricity is being connected to the property. The new compressor, built specifically for this lease, has arrived from the manufacturer and is expected to be installed and operational in the upcoming weeks. Once operational the Anderson wells will be producing both oil and natural gas. This project is being completed in advance of a new gas pipeline serving the area. Once the new line is in operation, the revenue from this project is expected to increase. The company is acquiring a larger interest in the Martin oil and gas field that is being converted into a waterflood project. In the interim, it will continue to produce oil and gas revenues for the company. The company is expecting first royalty payment for gas sales later.

Magellan Energy Announces Production Update in Morgan County, Tennessee
TORONTO--(Marketwire - 09/03/09) - Magellan Energy Ltd. (Pinksheets:MGLG - News) ("Magellan" or "the Company") is today announcing an update on its gas production in Morgan County, Tennessee. The solution, originally put in place to resolve the high BTU situation in Anderson, Morgan, Fentress and Scott Counties, has so far been unable to resolve the problem on a consistent enough basis to allow for continuous natural gas production. This affects all producers in the area and includes Magellan's Anderson, Martin and Lankford leases. Revenues from the oil produced from the Anderson and Martin leases will continue without disruption. To recap, in late 2008, the federal government, through the agency FERC, mandated that any gas with a BTU count higher than 1100 was unsafe and should not be transported in interstate pipelines or sold to consumers. Gas originating from oil wells usually has a high BTU count, and this is especially true in the Burville area where the Anderson and Martin wells are located. As a result, Magellan, as well as many other area producers, had their wells shut in by Citizens Gas for a protracted period of time.To resolve the issue, Citizens Gas placed a large compressor in its Burville collection and distribution system. This facility is where Citizens Gas receives its gas supply from the east Tennessee gas pipeline and from various local gas producing wells in Scott, Morgan, Fentress and Anderson counties. This system, unfortunately, has not been able to completely stabilize the high BTU issu...Click here to read the whole Article (external link)

Magellan Energy Ltd. Issues Additional Information on the Potential for the Lankford Lease
TORONTO--(Marketwire - 07/22/09) - Magellan Energy Ltd. (Pinksheets:MGLG - News) ("Magellan" or "the Company") is pleased to provide shareholders with additional information on its Lankford Lease. The Lankford Lease, comprising of 11 producing wells, is located on the Chattanooga Shale. A recent report on the Chattanooga shale reserve potential (soon to be available on our website) confirms the Company's own due diligence and its subsequent participation in the project with its partner, TMD Energy. A five county area of Late Devonian Age Chattanooga Shale gas production exists under the Cumberland Plateau. These counties are Scott, Morgan, Fentress, Anderson, and Campbell Counties. The thickness of the Chattanooga Shale under these counties ranges from 30 feet to a known maximum of 828 feet. The natural gas in this reservoir is absorbed onto the surface of organic matter in the Chattanooga black shale. The Chattanooga Shale under the Plateau is in the peak oil phase of thermal maturity and is still generating hydrocarbons. The Lankford Lease wells are located in Morgan County. Currently, the wells are producing from the Monteagle formation. Monteagle limestone is a Mississippian age formation that is a consistent oil and gas producing formation. Other Monteagle gas wells in the area are still producing commercial quantities of gas after 30 years. The Lankford Lease wells have been drilled to the shale formation and the Company is confident that a significant amount of gas from the formation exists on their lease. The Chattan...Click here to read the whole Article (external link)
Magellan Energy Announces Acquisition of Lankford Lease in Morgan County, Tennessee
TORONTO--(Marketwire - 06/18/09) - Magellan Energy Ltd. (Pinksheets:MGLG - News) ("Magellan" or "the Company"), an independent oil and gas company, announces that it has signed a participation agreement with TMD Energy for the Lankford Lease in Morgan County, Tennessee. The lease/agreement consists of eleven wells that are currently producing natural gas. We are extremely excited to begin another project with TMD Energy Inc., who will be the operators of this lease. The acquisition of this lease has occurred at an opportune time, as operators in this area are now able to get their gas to market via the new compressor set in by Citizens Gas. The compressor blends the gas from all area producers thereby resolving the high BTU issue that previously prevented producers from selling their gas. The eleven wells on the property produce gas from the Monteagle formation and are currently tied into a collection system, which is tied into Citizens Gas Utility District. The operators, TMD Energy Inc., will work with Magellan Energy to ensure that the wells continue to produce natural gas and additional revenues for both parties. Magellan has an option on this lease to frac two shale wells in the future, which would increase the gas production per well on a daily basis. These two wells will be relatively easy to frac as they are located on the thin exposed part of the Chattanooga Shale in Eastern Tennessee. With gas production from a total number of twenty-four producing wells, The Company will continue to execute its business st...Click here to read the whole Article (external link)

Magellan Energy Addresses BTU Situation in Tennessee
TORONTO--(MARKET WIRE)--Dec 22, 2008 -- Magellan Energy Ltd. (Other OTC:MGLG.PK - News), an independent oil and gas company, wishes to address both public, and shareholders' inquiries, regarding our wells being "shut in" due to high levels of BTUs (British thermal unit). Gas coming off of an oil well usually has a high BTU count which by Federal Regulatory standards is considered too dangerous to put into lines going directly into residential and commercial use. The gas needs to be "stripped" cooled or compressed. The gas coming off the Burville area (which we are in) is unusually high, and needs to be compressed to 350pnds.Over the past 20 plus years, the only market for locally produced natural gas in the Fentress, Scott and Morgan County area has been Citizens Gas Utility District. Now the federal government, through the agency FERC, has decided that any gas with a BTU higher than 1100 is unsafe and should not be transported in interstate pipelines or sold to customers. Many producers have had their wells shut in by Citizens over the past six months for high BTUs.Producers like ourselves, including the ones we are working with, are in the process of building or acquiring a pipeline that will take the gas directly to market. In the process, they will have to be able to strip the gas to meet the new BTU requirements. The Robert Anderson, the Thomas Martin, and the Thomas Davidson Wells are currently "shut in." We have been working closely with the operators, and Citizen's Gas Utility District, and fully expect that th...Click here to read the whole Article (external link)
