For the quarter, the company reported profit of MYR 69.11 million and profit attributable to equity holders of the company was MYR 67.46 million or 10.32 sen per diluted share on revenue of MYR 573.43 million compared to profit of MYR 9.81 million and profit attributable to equity holders of the company was MYR 8.55 million or 1.48 sen per diluted share on revenue of MYR 582.00 million for the same period a year ago. Profit before finance costs was MYR 87.53 million compared to MYR 47.21 for the same period a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 73.32 million compared to MYR 18.29 million for the same period a year ago. The quarter's lower profit performance was due mainly to losses incurred by the retail operations in Fiji and the Coconut Oil Mill operation in PNG. For the full year, the company reported profit of MYR 115.91 million and profit attributable to equity holders of the company was MYR 112.59 million or 17.40 sen per diluted share on revenue of MYR 1,897.20 million compared to profit of MYR 95.63 million and profit attributable to equity holders of the company was MYR 93.90 million or 15.01 sen per diluted share on revenue of MYR 2,062.48 million for the same period a year ago. Profit before finance costs was MYR 219.98 million compared to MYR 224.53 for the same period a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 144.99 million compared to MYR 131.31 million for the same period a year ago. Net cash generated from operating activities was MYR 174.74 million compared to MYR 78.51 million for the same period a year ago.

MBF Holdings Bhd announced unaudited condensed consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported profit of MYR 25.53 million and profit attributable to equity holders of the company of MYR 24.56 million or 3.79 sen per diluted share compared to profit of MYR 39.61 million and profit attributable to equity holders of the company of MYR 39.83 million or 6.24 sen per diluted share for the same period a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported profit of MYR 46.79 and profit attributable to equity holders of the company of MYR 45.13 million or 7.08 sen per diluted share on revenue of MYR 1,323.78 million compared to profit of MYR 85.82 million and profit attributable to equity holders of the company of MYR 85.36 million or 13.53 sen per diluted share on revenue of MYR 1,480.48 million for the same period a year ago. Profit before tax was MYR 71.67 compared to MYR 113.02 million for the same period a year ago. Net cash generated from operating activities was MYR 153.89 million compared to MYR 25.06 million for the same period a year ago.

MBF Holdings Bhd reported earnings results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2009. The company reported pre-tax profit in the third quarter ended September 30, 2009 eased 33.63% to MYR 33.239 million from a pre-tax gain of MYR 50.078 million in the same quarter of 2008. Revenue fell by 16.26% to MYR 441.347 million from MYR 527.069 million. The reduction in revenue was due principally to lower contributions from the Coconut Oil Mill operation in Papua New Guinea and the retail operations in Fiji compounded by the devaluation of the Fijian Dollar by the Reserve Bank of Fiji. Included in the current quarter's profit before tax and preceding year's corresponding quarter profit were non recurring items of MYR 5.36 million and MYR 33.99 million respectively. Disregarding these non recurring items, the operating profit for the current quarter of MYR 27.88 million, was MYR 11.79 million or 73.28% higher than the previous year's corresponding quarter of MYR 16.09 million.
