Lam Research Corporation reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended December 27, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported net income of $69.6 million or $0.54 per diluted share on total revenue of $487.2 million compared to net loss of $24.2 million or $0.19 per diluted share on total revenue of $283.4 million for the same quarter a year ago. Income before income taxes was $91.3 million and operating income of $91.3 million compared to loss before income taxes of $44.6 million and operating loss of $37.3 million for the same quarter a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $73.3 million and capital expenditures and intangible assets of $6.9 million compared to net cash used in operating activities was $39 million and capital expenditures and intangible assets of $12.4 million for the same quarter a year ago. For the six month, the company reported net income of $86.4 million or $0.67 per diluted share on total revenue of $805.7 million compared to net loss of $15.3 million or $0.12 per diluted share on total revenue of $723.8 million for same quarter a year ago. Income before income taxes was $120.2 million and operating income of $120.6 million compared to loss before income taxes of $19.1 million and operating loss of $20.9 million for the same quarter a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $76.1 million and capital expenditures and intangible assets of $12.7 million compared to net provided by operating activities of $4.1 million and capital expenditures and intangible assets of $27.6 million for the same quarter a year ago.
