Longport Inc. announced details on orders received during the first quarter of 2008. During the first quarter Longport received orders for 23 EPISCAN systems. All of the units have been sold into wound prevention/assessment. Another two systems were sold to acute hospitals as a result of CMS announced reimbursement changes. One system was sold to a hospital rehabilitation facility, and two were sold to a wound care service group. The remaining five systems were sold to a series of long-term care facilities. Of these 23 systems, eleven were delivered during the first quarter. Of these sales, 13 systems were to one customer, a long-term care group with whom company has been conducting studies into the use of the EPISCAN to detect early stage pressure ulcers for the last two years. The EPISCAN will be used as part of the facilities' admission process and to enhance their regular ongoing skin assessment protocols. Longport Inc. announced that on March 1, 2008, Dr. Michie Proctor, a Director of the Company, passed away after a long illness. Dr. Proctor was the former Chairman of the Company and was one of its founding investors.

Longport Inc. announced that it had made sales of its EPISCAN system into the transitional care / rehabilitation and the acute hospital sectors for pressure ulcer prevention and wound assessment. Longport's EPISCAN system has the capability to detect deep tissue injury at the time of a patient's admission to the hospital which helps to determine where a pressure ulcer originates. This CMS rule change has been widely reported in the media and is expected to benefit Longport's efforts in getting the Company's EPISCAN I-200 ultrasound scanner accepted in hospitals for use in pressure ulcer prevention. The images the scanner generates help facilities see the early stages of deep tissue injury and thus initiate targeted preventative intervention earlier, which can frequently prevent pressure ulcers developing.
