Wu Yibing, managing director and executive vice president of Legend Holdings and non-executive director of the Lenovo Group, has just resigned. Wu offered his resignation during the board meeting and gained board approval. Wu is said to go to establish a private equity fund after the resignation. Wu was the chief transformation business officer of Legend Holdings and was responsible for designing and implementing process and organizational changes and overseeing key strategic initiatives.

Lenovo Group Ltd. reported consolidated earnings results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported net profit applicable to equity holders of $53 million or 0.55 cents per diluted share on sales of $4,099 million compared to net profit applicable to equity holders of $23 million or 0.25 cents per diluted share on sales of $4,326 million for the same period of last year. The company reported income before tax of $65 million and income from operations of $43 million compared to income before tax of $39 million and income from operations of $59 million for the same period of last year. The company declared an interim dividend of 0.13 cents per share.

Lenovo Group Ltd. announced that Mr. Nicholas Charles Allen has been appointed as an independent non-executive director of the company, taking effect from November 6, 2009. Mr. Allen will also serve as a Member of the Audit Committee of the Board with effect from the same date. Mr. Allen was appointed an independent non-executive director of CLP Holdings Limited effective from May 12, 2009.
