Lime Energy Co. Reports Results for Three-Month and Nine-Month Periods Ended September 30, 2009
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., Nov. 12, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lime Energy Co. (Nasdaq:LIME - News), a leading provider of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, today announced its results for the three and nine month periods ended September 30, 2009. "The third quarter marked another strong quarter of growth for Lime Energy," stated David Asplund, Chief Executive Officer. "We continued to grow revenue, show improved operating leverage and support new initiatives in engineering, utility program management and direct federal government contracting despite the continued challenging economic environment." Results were in line with expectations, with consolidated revenue up over 18% from the third quarter of 2008. Contributing to the increase was a 24% increase in revenue from our commercial and industrial (C&I) business and a 16% increase in our public sector work with our ESCO partners. We recognized no revenue during the quarter from our recently awarded utility program management contracts or FRR contract. In addition to the top-line growth, we continued to show improved operating leverage with our SG&A as a percent of revenue declining 4 percentage points from the prior year period. SG&A increased just 4% to support our new initiatives as well as the result of additions to our sales staff added earlier in the year. This improvement in operating leverage, in combination with a reduction in our amortization expense, contributed to a 15% decline in our operating loss when compared to the prior year period. ...Click here to read the whole Article (external link)
Lime Energy Upgrade Saves Energy and Improves Operations at Perillo BMW
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill., Nov. 17, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Lime Energy (Nasdaq:LIME - News), today announced the recent completion of an energy efficiency project in downtown Chicago for Perillo BMW, located at 1035 North Clark Street. The project involved new energy efficiency lighting in the showroom and service areas at this five-level downtown location. "We could not be happier with our new lighting," said Pat Perillo, who along with her husband, Joe Perillo, are the owners of Perillo BMW. "Saving energy is part of our overall philosophy that we call 'Perillo Cares.' We care about the environment, we care about quality, and we care about service and comfort. All of the elements of that philosophy actually come together in this energy project." The lighting upgrade included installing new fixtures in the showroom areas, the multi-floor parking areas, and the repair and service bays. Overall savings are expected to exceed 150,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, which is equivalent to avoiding 95 metric tons of CO2 annually, or taking 18 cars permanently off the road. The upgrades are expected to pay for themselves in slightly over 2 1/2 years from utility bill savings and a rebate from Commonwealth Edison. After seeing the results of the completed project, the staff at Perillo BMW noticed several benefits that they had not anticipated. In the repair areas, new lighting replaced metal halide fixtures that produced a tremendous amount of heat and that required ventilation fans to maintain comfort for the repair...Click here to read the whole Article (external link)

Lime Energy shares tumble on 3Q loss, outlook
NEW YORK (AP) -- Shares of Lime Energy Co. fell sharply Friday, a day after the company posted a third-quarter loss and cut its outlook on worries that stimulus bill uncertainty and cautious customers could stall growth. The energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions provider's stock tumbled $1.53, or 24 percent, to $4.81 in afternoon trading. On Thursday after the market closed, Lime Energy said its third-quarter net loss widened to $4.2 million, or 26 cents per share, compared with a loss of $3.1 million, or 36 cents per share, during the same period last year. Net loss widened but earnings per-share results narrowed because total shares outstanding in the third quarter rose 83 percent from a year earlier.Revenue climbed nearly 19 percent to $21 million, up from $17.7 million a year ago.Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expected a net loss of 9 cents per share on revenue of $21.5 million, on average.Lime Energy cut its full-year revenue outlook to between $71 million and $73 million, down from previous estimates between $80 million and $85 million. The company also said its full-year loss will be worse than expected. It estimated an adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization loss between $5 million and $5.5 million, down from an earlier estimate of a $2 million loss. The current business environment and uncertainty about the stimulus bill is hurting Lime Energy's ability to convert backlog into contracted revenue, the company said, adding that corporate customers remain cautious about spending, given the continued state of economic uncertainty.Despite Lime Energy's third-quarter loss and cautious outlook, Wedbush Morgan analyst Craig Irwin urged investors to snap up the pressured stock, given its attractive price and the "robust energy efficiency market environment."...Click here to read the whole Article (external link)
