Imperial Capital Bancorp Inc. announced that the firm has opened a new office in Boston. Imperial Capital's new office is located at 101 Arch Street, Suite 1763, Boston, MA 02110. The main office number is 617-478-7600. The strategic location will initially be staffed with Christopher (Chip) Mellen and Diana Knightly, who are both joining the firm as Managing Directors, High Yield Sales, in the Institutional Sales and Trading Group. The senior hires and location will allow Imperial Capital to further expand and strengthen its relationships with institutional clients. Before joining Imperial, Mr. Mellen and Ms. Knightly were both Directors, High Yield Sales at Barclays Capital. With these hires, Imperial Capital has increased its firm-wide institutional sales and trading team to 49 professionals. Chip Mellen has over 20 years experience in institutional sales, 15 of which have been in high yield sales. Before joining Imperial, Mr. Mellen was a Director, High Yield Sales at Barclays Capital and a Senior Vice President, High Yield Sales at Lehman Brothers. Diana Knightly has 13 years of experience in high yield sales. Prior to Imperial, she was a Director, High Yield Sales at Barclays Capital and a Senior Vice President, High Yield Sales at Lehman Brothers.

On October 1, 2009, the Boards of Directors of Imperial Capital Bancorp Inc. and Imperial Capital Bank notified George W. Haligowski of the termination of his employment with the Company and the Bank, effective October 31, 2009. Effective October 1, 2009, Joseph W. Kiley III, age 53, was appointed as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and the Bank, replacing Mr. Haligowski in those positions. Mr. Kiley also was appointed as a director of the Company and the Bank effective October 1, 2009. Prior to his appointment to these positions, Mr. Kiley had been serving as a consultant to the Boards of Directors of the Company and the Bank since July 2009. Mr. Kiley also serves as a director of California General Bank, Pasadena, California, a position he has held since 2007.

On August 19, 2009, Imperial Capital Bancorp, Inc. has dismissed Ernst & Young LLP as the company's independent registered public accounting firm. On August 19, 2009, the audit committee of the Board of Directors agreed to engage Squar, Milner, Peterson, Miranda & Williamson, LLP as the company's independent registered public accounting firm.
