Hyflux Water Trust announced earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company's distributable income rose 27.9% to $3.49 million from $2.73 million in the year-ago quarter. Available distribution per unit (DPU) was 1.16 cents in-line with the trust's target DPU of 2.86 cents for the second half of the year. For the nine months, the company DPU was 3.48 cents compared to 2.4 cents last year. The increase in cash available for distribution was mainly attributable to an increase in income from operating and maintenance work and finance income increasing. Including the first half's distribution, the company is expected to meet the 2009 full year forecast DPU of 5.42 cents.

Hyflux Water Trust reported unaudited consolidated financial results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company's total revenue of $6.7 million was $10.0 million or 60% lower than the second quarter of 2008 revenue of $16.7 million. The lower revenue was mainly due to the lower construction revenue recognised for this quarter. The company reported net operating income of $2.7 million was $0.6 million or 27% higher than that for second quarter of 2008 of $2.1 million driven mainly by a stronger operating revenue. Loss before income tax was $1.3 million compared to profit before income tax of $2.3 million a year ago. Loss attributable to unit holders was $1.2 million or 0.39 cents per basic and diluted share, compared to profit attributable to unit holders of $2.2 million or 0.72 cents per basic and diluted share, a year ago. Cash flows generated from operating activities was $7.9 million compared to cash flows used in operating activities of $2.3 million a year ago. For the first half, the company's total revenue of $20.7 million was $10.3 million or 33% lower than the first half of 2008 revenue of $31.0 million. The revenue of $20.7 million was mainly due to the low construction revenue recognised for this period which has no impact on the operating profit. Net operating income was $5.7 million was $2.4 million or 72% higher than that of $3.3 million in first half of 2008 after taking into account higher operating revenue as well as lower operating expenses. Profit before income tax was $5.02 million compared to $3.04 million a year ago. Profit attributable to unit holders was $5.1 million or 1.71 cents per basic and diluted share, compared to profit attributable to unit holders of $3.3 million or 1.10 cents per basic and diluted share, a year ago. Cash flows generated from operating activities was $9.04 million compared to cash flows used in operating activities of $19.03 million a year ago. For the six months ended June 30, 2009, the company declared cash, tax-exempt distribution of SGD 6.937 million or 2.56 Singapore cents per unit (excluding sponsor's units), 1.77 Singapore cents per sponsor's unit, compared to cash, tax-exempt distribution of SGD 4.466 million or 2.17 Singapore cents per unit a year ago.

For the quarter, the company reported total revenues of SGD 14,051,000, net operating income of SGD 2,957,000, profit before income tax of SGD 6,292,000, profit for the period of SGD 6,297,000, and cash flows generated from operating activities of SGD 1,118,000, compared to total revenues of SGD 14,383,000, net operating income of SGD 1,168,000, profit before income tax of SGD 798,000, profit for the period of SGD 1,117,000, and cash flows used in operating activities of SGD 15,378,000 for the same period a year ago.
