Hampden Bancorp, Inc. Reports Unaudited Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended September 30, 2009 ; Declares Quarterly Cash Dividend Payable on November 25, 2009

Hampden Bancorp, Inc. reported unaudited earnings results for the first quarter ended September 30, 2009. The company had a net loss for the three months ended September 30, 2009 of $162,000, or $0.02 per fully diluted share, as compared to a net profit of $47,000, or $0.01 per fully diluted share, for the same period in 2008. For the three month period ended September 30, 2009, net interest income increased by $512,000 compared to the three month period ended September 30, 2008. A partial offset to this increase was an increase in the provision for loan losses of $338,000 for the three months ended September 30, 2009 compared to the three months ended September 30, 2008. Loss before income tax expense was $232,000 against income before income tax expense of $69,000 a year ago. The company also announced that the Board of Directors of the company declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.03 per common share, payable on November 25, 2009, to shareholders of record at the close of business on November 10, 2009.

Hampden Bancorp Inc. Amends Article II, Section 1 of the Company's Amended and Restated Bylaws

On September 8, 2009, the Board of Directors of Hampden Bancorp Inc. adopted by resolution an amendment to Article II, Section 1 of the company's Amended and Restated Bylaws to remove language which exempted existing directors who were also directors prior to February 12, 1997 from the prohibition of qualifying to be elected as a director upon reaching the age of 75.

Hampden Bancorp, Inc. and Hampden Bank Announce Retirement of Donald R. Dupre as Director

On July 28, 2009 Hampden Bancorp, Inc., the holding company for Hampden Bank announced that Donald R. Dupre retired as Director of the Company and the Bank effective as of July 28, 2009. Mr. Dupre shall continue to serve as a consultant, without compensation, to the Board of Directors until January 31, 2010. Also on July 28, 2009, Richard Kos, a current director, was temporarily appointed as the Secretary of the Company.
