In addition, it provides VSAT-based networks and associated professional services, including turnkey and management services to telecom operators; satellite network services to enterprises, small office/home office, and residential customers; and telephony, Internet, and data services primarily for rural communities. Further, the company offers various services, which consist of StarBand, an VSAT Internet access service; Connexstar Transaction, a low-bandwidth VSAT network; Connexstar Broadband, a broadband VSAT network; Connexstar Performance, a high-bandwidth VSAT network; and Spacenet Custom Networks that are VSAT and hybrid terrestrial WANs. Additionally, it provides various solutions, including project management, network design, deployment logistics, implementation and integration, operational services, and maintenance and support. The company offers its products under the Gilat, Connexstar, SkyAbis, SkyEdge, Spacenet, and StarBand brands. Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. and Orbit Technology Group announced that they have completed integration for Satellite Communications On-The-Move (SOTM) solutions to serve a wide range of industries. The new SOTM solutions provided by Gilat includes its advanced VSAT platforms with Orbit's Stabilized Satellite Communication Systems. These serve the complex mobile communications requirements of the ground and maritime markets. Recently, the integrated Gilat-Orbit SOTM solution was successfully deployed by Kazakhstan Temir Zholy. Gilat provided the integrated solution to enable the delivery of broadband wireless services to train passengers, representing the first satellite-based broadband service for train passengers in the region. Gilat's SkyEdge II VSATs together with Orbit's maritime antennas were also deployed on offshore oil platforms, vessels and exploration sites operated by China's CNOOC Oil Base Group. Gilat's SkyEdge and SkyEdge II multi-service platforms enable the delivery of high-quality voice, broadband data and video services for different environments including enterprises, rural networks, cellular backhaul and government network applications. Gilat's diverse portfolio of VSATs offer service providers the most suitable product for their application needs as well as the flexibility to evolve their networks. The newest addition to Gilat's SkyEdge II portfolio is NetEdge(TM), a dedicated solution for multi-star networks, specifically designed to meet the needs of corporate networks and cellular-backhaul applications. Orbit's Satcom solutions enable satellite connectivity for Maritime, Land and Airborne mobile platforms. With thousands of installations worldwide, Orbit's marine Satcom solutions support global coverage in all weather and sea conditions, providing uninterrupted broadband satellite communication. OrSat-G, Orbit's flagship marine satcom system, is type approved by Eutelsat, Intelsat and Anatel, distinguishing itself as an optimal off-the-shelf solution, ready-to-operate in Global-Ku voyages. The Satcom Train Antenna system is a low-profile Ku-Band stabilized antenna system that enables continuous satcom connectivity for high-speed trains traveling at speeds of over 300 km/h.
Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. announced that it has been chosen by Satcom Systems Ltd. (TASE:STCM) to provide a SkyEdge II broadband satellite network to serve several hundred sites throughout Africa. The new network, comprising a SkyEdge II hub located in Germany and hundreds of VSATs, will enable Satcom Systems to expand its services in West Africa. Satcom Systems is launching a new service, Ku Plus on Intelsat's IS-14 satellite, using the SkyEdge II platform, and will offer high quality broadband Internet connectivity to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in West Africa. The SkyEdge II network will deliver a wide range of interactive data applications, including VoIP, video conferencing and virtual private networks.
Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. announced that Amazonian Protection System will deploy a Gilat SkyEdge II broadband satellite communications network at more than 1,000 sites. SIPAM operates a sophisticated network of cartography and telemetry systems that provide information to help manage weather forecasting, security and other public services in the remote Amazonian region. The SkyEdge II VSAT network will serve as the foundation of SIPAM's efforts to modernize its communications infrastructure. The new broadband satellite network will enable SIPAM to more effectively disseminate critical information to Amazonian states and cities and the dozens of institutions and isolated sites that rely on SIPAM data to meet the demands of the region's population.
