Total Gabon announced financial results for the year of 2009. For the year, the company reported its profit plunged 63% in 2009 to $141 million (103.5 million). The company said the drop was mostly due to the fall in world oil prices from 2008. However, it added crude production slide by 6% to an average of 56,500 barrels per day due to natural decline in some of its oil fields and a strike by employees in July.
