Historically, Citizens Community Federal (the "Bank") was a federal credit union. The Bank accepted deposits and made loans to members, who live, work or worship in the Wisconsin counties of Chippewa and Eau Claire, and parts of Pepin, Buffalo and Trempealeau. In addition, this included businesses and other entities located in these counties, and members and employees of the Hocak Nation. In December 2001, the Bank converted to a federal mutual savings bank in order to better serve our customers and the local community through the broader lending ability of a federal savings bank, and to expand our customer base beyond the limited field of membership permitted for credit unions. As a federal savings bank, the Bank has expanded authority in structuring residential mortgage and consumer loans, and the ability to make commercial loans, although the Bank does not currently have any immediate plans to commence making commercial loans. ... Schaefer, of Eau Claire, WI, has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer at Citizens Community Bancorp, Inc. and its wholly owned subsidiary, Citizens Community Federal. Ed will work together with Tim Cruciani, President of Citizens Community Federal, to provide strategic leadership and expertise to management and the Board to establish a corporate culture built on a commitment to sustainable profitability, effective communications, transparency, accountability, while maintaining a strong compliance and credit culture. Mr. Schaefer has been a director of Citizens Community Federal since October 1, 2009 and has served as a consultant to the bank since October 1, 2009.

Citizens Community Bancorp, Inc. reported earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended September 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company has posted net income attributable to common stockholders of $490,000, compared to net income of $384,000 for the prior-year period, a gain of 27.6%. The quarter over quarter increase in net income was a result of an increase in interest and dividend income partially offset by an increase in non-interest expense and an increase in the provision for loan losses. On a basic and diluted per share basis, the company reported fiscal 2009 fourth quarter earnings of $0.10 per share, up from earnings of $0.07 per share for the prior year fourth quarter. Net interest income was $4.6 million, up from $3.5 million for the prior year period. Income before provision for income tax was $815,000 compared to $635,000 for the same period a year ago. For the year, the company has posted net loss attributable common stockholders of $3,183,000 or $0.59 diluted per share compared to net income attributable common stockholders of $1,474,000 or $0.24 diluted per share for the same period a year ago. Net interest income was $16,252,000 compared to $12,595,000 for the same period a year ago. Loss before provision for income tax was $5,272,000 compared to income before provision for income tax of $2,482,000 for the same period a year ago.
