Cytokinetics Inc. announced that abstracts summarizing non-clinical data relating to GSK-923295, an inhibitor of centromere-associated protein E (CENP-E), are scheduled to be presented at the AACR-NCI-EORTC International Conference on Molecular Targets and Cancer Therapeutics to be held from November 15-19, 2009 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts. The presentations contain preclinical data relating to GSK-923295, currently being studied in a GlaxoSmithKline sponsored Phase I, first time in humans clinical trial designed to evaluate the safety, tolerability, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetic profile of this novel drug candidate in patients with solid tumors.
Cytokinetics Inc. announced that Pat Gage has been appointed to the company's Board of Directors. Since July 2002, he has served as a consultant to the biopharmaceutical industry, including service as an advisor to venture capital firms. Dr. Gage currently serves as Executive Chairman of Virdante Pharmaceuticals, and is also a Director of Acceleron Pharma, Alvine Pharmaceuticals and Immune Control, which are all privately held companies.
