Cygne Designs Inc. reported earnings results for the third quarter ended October 31, 2008. Net sales for the third quarter of 2008 were $927,000, a decrease of $21 978,000, or 96%, from net sales of $22,905,000 for the second quarter of 2007. The decrease in sales for the third quarter of 2008 compared to the third quarter of 2007 of $21,977,000 was mainly attributable to the loss of major customers during the period. Sales for the third quarter of 2008 consisted primarily of the Company's remaining inventory to smaller customers. The Company recorded a net loss of $1,191,000, or $0.03 loss per share on a basic and diluted share basis, for the quarter ended October 31, 2008 as compared to a net profit of $707,000, or $0.02 per share on a basic and diluted share basis, for the prior year period.
