CommVault Systems Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2009. For the quarter, the company reported net income of $4.7 million or $0.11 per diluted share, which was flat compared to net income of $4.72 million or $0.11 per diluted share the same period of the prior year. Non-GAAP net income was $7.7 million or $0.17 per diluted share, from $7.6 million or $0.17 per diluted share, in the same period of the prior year. Total revenues were $66.7 million against $63.3 million a year ago. The company's sequential revenue growth of 11% was driven by larger enterprise deals, solid U.S. federal government business and strong demand for deduplication and archiving products. Income from operations (EBIT) was $6.5 million, a 15% decrease from $7.7 million in the same period of the prior year. Non-GAAP income from operations (EBIT) increased 9% to $11.3 million compared to $10.4 million in the second quarter of the prior year. Operating cash flow totaled $10.6 million compared to $14.2 million in the second quarter of fiscal 2009. Income before income taxes was $6.5 million against $8.2 million a year ago. For the six months, the company reported net income of $7.1 million or $0.16 per diluted share against net income of $8.2 million or $0.18 per diluted share a year ago. Non-GAAP net income was $14.1 million or $0.32 per diluted share, from $13.14 million or $0.29 per diluted share, in the same period of the prior year. Total revenues were $126.8 million against $118.3 million a year ago. Income from operations (EBIT) was $12.5 million against $12.2 million in the same period of the prior year. Non-GAAP income from operations (EBIT) was $20.6 million compared to $17.6 million in the second quarter of the prior year. Net cash provided by operating activities was $23.5 million against $28.2 million a year ago. Purchase of property and equipment was $1.7 million against $2.7 million a year ago. Income before income taxes was $12.7 million against $13.3 million a year ago.
