Companhia De Transmissao De Energia Eletrica Paulista reported earnings results for the third quarter of 2009. The company reported net profit fell by 5.4% year-on-year to BRL 218.7 million in the third quarter of 2009. EBITDA for the period was BRL 358.8 million on net revenue of BRL 440.5 million.

Companhia De Transmissao De Energia Eletrica Paulista has invested BRL 32 million (USD 18.8 million/EUR 12.6 million) in the expansion of its transmission capacity in the third quarter of 2009. The company allocated the sum for 10 power substations, under its 2009-2011 investment plan valued at BRL 547.8 million. One of the projects was a transmission line connected to the Cerradinho biomass plant in Catanduva, Sao Paulo, which required a BRL 7 million investment. The other projects included the substations Xavantes, Norte, Sao Jose do Rio Preto, Votuporanga II, Cerquilho, Mogi Mirim II and Santa Cabeca, among others.

Cteep, CPFL Paulista and Cemig Distribuicao received a declaration of public utility (DPU) for plots where they will develop power transmission projects. Cteep will use the plots for a transmission line between its Sao Joao da Boa Vista II substation and the Pinhal substation, in southeastern Sao Paulo state. In the same state, in the municipality of Botucatu, CPFL Paulista got a DPU for the 1.8 km (1.1 miles) long Botucatu Cteep-Botucatu CPFL transmission line. Cemig Distribuicao will use the plots for the 26.9 km transmission line Mato Verde-Monte Azul, in southeastern Minas Gerais state.
