Chia Tai Enterprises International Ltd. reported unaudited consolidated cash flow results for the six months ended June 30, 2009. For the period, the company reported net cash generated from operating activities was HKD 281,389,000 compared to HKD 49,960,000 for the same period last year.

Chia Tai Enterprises International Ltd. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first six months ended June 30, 2009. For the period, the group recorded a loss attributable to shareholders of HKD 116.8 million or 1.09 cents per basic and diluted share compared to loss attributable to shareholders of HKD 75.6 million or 1.26 cents per basic and diluted share for the same period a year ago. The company's revenue rose by HKD 2,446.5 million to turnover of HKD 5,107.9 million compared to turnover of HKD 2,661.4 million for the same period a year ago. The increase in revenue was primarily a result of the completion of the Restructuring in October 2008 whereas CTEI acquired 21 performing stores from Shanghai Lotus Supermarket Chain Store Co. Ltd. Earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortization improved significantly from HKD 49.6 million compared to HKD 204.8 million for the same period a year ago. Loss before taxation was HKD 114.2 million compared to HKD 68.7 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from operations was HKD 71.7 million compared to loss from operations of HKD 15.5 million for the same period a year ago.

The board of directors of Chia Tai Enterprises International Ltd. announced that Mr. Leung Chun Keung has resigned as Non-Executive Director of the company with effect from 15th July, 2009 due to his business and other commitments.
