China Kangtai Cactus Bio-Tech Inc. announced preliminary unaudited revenue results for the year ended December 31, 2009. For the full year, the company believes reported revenue will be approximately $25.8 million, up 27% from $20.3 million in 2008, attributable to strong sales of its new products, including, cactus-based low and zero nicotine cigarettes and cactus-based green animal feed. Based on continued strong demand for existing and new clients, the company is targeting its revenue for the full year of 2010 to be approximately $34.8 million, up 35% from approximately $25.8 million in 2009.

China Kangtai Cactus Bio-Tech Inc. announced that it has received a RMB 14.30 million (approximately USD 2.1 million) one-year contract for cactus-based low and zero nicotine cigarettes from Suifenhe Xinyue Trading Co. Ltd. The low nicotine cigarette lowers tar and nicotine content by 70%. The zero nicotine cigarette, which is made without tobacco, eliminates nicotine and greatly reduces harm related to secondhand smoke, yet still offers taste and enjoyment equivalent to regular cigarettes.

China Kangtai Cactus Bio-Tech Inc. announced that the company expects to restate its previously filed annual report for the year 2008 to (1) correct errors relating to the accounting for deemed dividends from the sales of convertible preferred stock and warrants issued on March 21, 2008 and July 16, 2008 and (2) correct the non-accounting for the grant of 150,000 stock options to the company's legal counsel on December 31, 2008 and also restate its quarterly reports for the first three quarters of fiscal 2009. As a result of this change in accounting treatment, the company anticipates making a negative non-cash adjustment of approximately $2.7 million to its income statement for the third quarter of 2009, due to the expense incurred on the revaluation of Series A Preferred Stock and A, B, C, and D Warrants with characteristics of liabilities at fair value. The company also expects to record non-cash adjustments in subsequent reporting periods, depending on the changes in the fair value of the company's convertible preferred stock and warrants, which will be subject to, among other factors, changes in the company's share price. This adjustment has no impact on the company's cash flow or income from operations.
