Tai Fook Securities Group Ltd. said in a statement to Hong Kong’s stock exchange that NWS Holdings Ltd. may sell part or its entire 61.9% stake in Tai Fook Securities. Taifook rose as much as 23%. The stock advanced 19% to HKD 4.78. Oriental Daily News reported, citing unidentified people that China Construction Bank Corporation is in talks to buy the stake. Bloomberg reported that Yu Baoyue, a Beijing-based spokesman for Construction Bank, said in an interview that the report was “market speculation” and that he is “not aware of anything to be disclosed.” It added that William Lee, Taifook’s chief operating officer, declined to comment on the Oriental Daily report.
