Comprehensive Care Corporation announced that it has been selected as the behavioral health service provider for Medica HealthCare Plans Inc. and Medica Health Plan of Florida Inc. CompCare's agreement with Medica is a multi-year contract that includes Medica's Medicare population in Broward County and Medica's Medicaid and Commercial populations in Miami-Dade and Broward County. CompCare's initial services began December 1, 2009, and include enrollees in Medica's recently expanded Medicaid program. Services for Medica's Commercial and Medicare enrollees in this region began February 1, 2010.

Comprehensive Care Corp. announced that it has expanded contract with Care1st Health Plan (Care1st) in California to provide behavioral health services for an additional 17,000 members enrolled in the Healthy Families program. The multi-year expanded contract became effective on January 1, 2010. CompCare has held a contract to provide behavioral health services to Care1st members enrolled in Medicaid, Healthy Families, and Medicare programs since 2008. Under the expanded contract, CompCare will continue to ensure accessible, high-quality services tailored to meet the needs of Care1st members in Los Angeles County and in surrounding service areas.

Comprehensive Care Corp. announced it has retained leading healthcare consultant David R. Pitts, a move designed to enhance the company's strategic planning and business development efforts. Mr. Pitts is Chairman and CEO of Pitts Management Associates, a healthcare consulting firm that has worked with managed care organizations, hospitals, and other industry clients since 1981. With over 40 years of healthcare experience, Mr. Pitts brings a wealth of industry knowledge and business acumen. In addition to his consulting work, Mr. Pitts is currently Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Baton Rouge General Health System and President and Member of the Board of Directors of Health Insights, a national healthcare think tank. He also recently served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Church Pension Group, a multibillion dollar enterprise based in New York. With Masters' in both Healthcare Administration and Public Administration, Mr. Pitts holds full professorship on two university faculties and is a highly regarded national speaker on the healthcare industry. His previous positions include Executive Director and CEO of Oschner Foundation Hospitals and Executive Vice President of Oschner Medical Institutions.
