SAN MATEO, Calif., Nov. 2, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BioForm Medical, Inc. (Nasdaq:BFRM - News) today announced its financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2009, which is the Company's first quarter of fiscal 2010. Net sales were $18.3 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to $15.7 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008, an increase of $2.6 million or 16.6 %. The net loss was approximately $0.6 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to a net loss of $7.8 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008. Cash and cash equivalents increased during the quarter by $0.7 million to $42.9 million at September 30, 2009. Operating Results: Domestic sales were $14.2 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to $12.8 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008, an increase of $1.4 million or 10.9%. International sales were $4.1 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to $2.9 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008, an increase of $1.2 million or 41.4%. Gross profit was $15.6 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2009 as compared to $12.9 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2008, an increase of $2.7 million, or 20.9%.
