Beacon Enterprise Solutions Group, Inc. announced two new engagements with consumer companies. The first engagement is with one of the world's largest specialty apparel retailers, for whom Beacon performed site surveys and detailed radio frequency ("RF") analysis on two large distribution center campuses in the United States in May 2009. The new engagement covers two of the retailer's new distribution centers, one in Canada and the other in the United Kingdom, where Beacon will be responsible for the customer's RF wireless infrastructure, including assessment, design and implementation. Work on this project is scheduled to begin in March 2010. The value of this engagement is approximately $400,000. The second engagement is with a new customer, a leading producer and marketer of beer and other beverage products in the United States. The engagement, which was completed in February, required Beacon to perform a network assessment, design and installation in one of the customer's manufacturing facilities located in the Midwest. The value of this engagement is approximately $120,000 and will be included in fiscal 2010 second quarter results.

On February 26, 2010, Beacon Enterprise Solutions Group, Inc. received $500,000 in loan proceeds from Gelt Funding, LLC and issued a related short-term, non-interest bearing promissory note. The note is secured but subordinate to all existing senior debt outstanding. Terms of the note include a principal payment of $250,000 on March 31, 2010 with the balance of $250,000, in addition to a $10,000 origination fee, to be paid on April 30, 2010. In the event of default, an interest rate of 10% per annum will be applied to all past due amounts. No commissions or other fees were paid in relation to the transaction. The proceeds will be used for working capital purposes.

Beacon Enterprise Solutions Group, Inc. announced that it has been awarded a project as the intelligent building consultant for a state-of-the-art smart building on the campus of Northern Kentucky University. According to NKU leadership, in order for Griffin Hall, the new home for the NKU College of Informatics, to fulfill its mission, the building systems must be intelligent, innovative, interactive and interoperable. The practice of designing intelligent buildings is holistic, so all of Griffin Hall's low voltage systems will be fully integrated and interactive. It represents everything from the generation and gathering of raw data from the electrical, mechanical, security and other systems, to the interaction of users with the display of content. The proposed intelligent building will be designed to grow with future advances in technology so that it remains cutting edge even as technology progresses. This project leverages the teaming effort between Smart Buildings LLC and Beacon Enterprise Solutions. This is first project awarded as a result of the teaming agreement announced on November 3, 2009, with Beacon serving as the lead consulting firm and partnering with Smart Buildings in the delivery of professional services.
